Ingredients
400 g pork belly slices, diced
½ tablespoon cornflour
½ tablespoon brown sugar
A pinch of salt
½ tablespoon light soy sauce
Spring onions and sesame seeds, for garnish
Honey soy glaze
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
A pinch salt and pepper
½ tablespoon minced ginger, about ½ thumb-sized piece
½ red chilli, finely chopped (or ½ teaspoon dried chilli flakes)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1½ tablespoon dark soy sauce
Method
- Marinate pork belly for 15 minutes.
- Deep fry pork belly for 5-7 minutes depending on the size of the pork belly. Remove from oil.
- Mix honey soy glaze ingredients in a small bowl, add to the empty wok and heat until it bubbles.
- Return pork belly to wok and toss them quickly so they are evenly coated in the glaze and the glaze is thickened. It should be sticky and glossy.
- Garnish with spring onion and sesame seeds if using, serve hot.
