Apple Crumble

Ingredients

2 servings

Apple filling

500 g apples, cored and cut into 1cm cubes
1 tablespoon plain flour
50 g sugar
2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Crumble

45 g porridge oats
80 g plain flour
50 g sugar
0.5 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
65 g unsalted butter, cubed
Pinch of salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Place apple cubes in a bowl. Add flour, sugar and cinnamon, Toss with the lemon juice then spread out evenly in a baking dish. I use a loaf pan as I like how easy it is to cut into 2 square servings.
  3. Place crumble ingredients in a bowl. Mix until clumps form. Spread over the apples.
  4. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and apples piping hot. Remove, cover loosely with foil to keep warm and let stand for a few minutes before serving.
